98-16776

January 13, 2010

That’s my student number. I think.  But I have to dig up my TOR just to verify. Why?

I lost my college ID. Actually, my mom did. She unintentionally threw it out. She was doing her New Year’s Day cleaning and cleared the contents of my old wallet — including my ID. I don’t blame her though because it looked really old and battered and could easily be mistaken for some old Suki card. Still. I’m so sad.

I loved that ID. I had it since day one of college. For some reason—left at home, inserted in a book, hidden on the corners of my bag — it has survived lost and stolen wallets. Even when, back in the day, we don’t have to pin our ID to enter the UP campus, I never misplaced it.

What’s makes it doubly sad for me is that I can never get a new one or have it renewed even if I tried, not like government IDs. It’s gone forever — four years of college imprinted through the thick pile of enrollment stickers pasted one on top of another.

I’ve been quiet the whole day. Mourning. It’s like I lost a part of me.

Lost mine too. My wallet was snatched way back in 99. Off went the ID. It was there as I never want to part with it. :( - 94-46082
