Surprise
January 27, 2010A couple of years ago, my good friend left for Singapore. I didn’t have a chance to properly say goodbye because I missed her last day in the office. I regretted that.
My emails bounced back. I couldn’t find her on networking sites. I lost contact with her for too long. I actually gave up the search when she finally texted me last Christmas. That was a nice gift.
Now this.
What a pleasant surprise. I did not care too much for my share of the chocolates, I gave most away [and I don’t usually pass up on sweets]. I was smitten with the cuteness of the ladybug. =)
This goes out to you A. I miss you!
I Dread Weekends Now
January 26, 2010I have been going to my dentist for a couple of Saturdays now. It started with a toothache. We all know how painful that can be, but I tried to ignore the pain because I AM THAT scared of having a tooth pulled… of injections, etc, etc.
But with the two weddings (my cousin’s and best friend’s, on two separate dates), I had to choose between missing those and facing the problem—or in this case ‘biting’ the problem.
My phobia was terribly affecting my mood. Aoi had to psych me up the entire week—he had to promise over and over that “I won’t die”. I was THAT scared.
A few visits [and a lot of fixing for my other teeth, which costs a lot if you sum it up] later, the verdict for that ‘problem tooth’ was a root canal. Woo-hoo! I’m more afraid now of how much the procedure costs than the pain.
So long, Leica! So long, honeymoon! You’ll just have to wait till we can afford you again.

January 13, 2010That’s my student number. I think. But I have to dig up my TOR just to verify. Why?
I lost my college ID. Actually, my mom did. She unintentionally threw it out. She was doing her New Year’s Day cleaning and cleared the contents of my old wallet — including my ID. I don’t blame her though because it looked really old and battered and could easily be mistaken for some old Suki card. Still. I’m so sad.
I loved that ID. I had it since day one of college. For some reason—left at home, inserted in a book, hidden on the corners of my bag — it has survived lost and stolen wallets. Even when, back in the day, we don’t have to pin our ID to enter the UP campus, I never misplaced it.
What’s makes it doubly sad for me is that I can never get a new one or have it renewed even if I tried, not like government IDs. It’s gone forever — four years of college imprinted through the thick pile of enrollment stickers pasted one on top of another.
I’ve been quiet the whole day. Mourning. It’s like I lost a part of me.
Looker
January 10, 2010Actually, I don’t have significant news to share, but one of my new year’s resolution is to post a lot more photos. So here I am. This is my first post for the year, so this has to be about cuteness.
Hello? If we’re talking cuteness, my Max takes a perfect 10!
Cute overload! {btw, we’re still looking for females, please! I’m desparate for a pup.}
You know what I discovered, he loves riding in cars. And traveling in style! No, he’s not comfortable sitting around. He must look out the window. Every single time he’s with us, I’m not kidding.
No wonder I love Dug so much (from the movie Up), he reminds me of my golden retriever.
Anyway, happy new year again to everyone! I hope you had a blast [the good blast, ha]! It was our first together, my hubby and I. *blush*
Did you guys look at the “blue moon” over new year’s eve? I tried taking a photo, with less than outstanding results.
