My Little Space
November 12, 2009Our home is small as it is. One room is already filled with my our clothes. The living area is occupied by speakers, big ones and small ones scattered around the space for a “surround” effect daw. Whatever. What is it with men and their surround sound…? Too bad Aoi can’t even turn the volume high whenever I’m around because I easily get startled with anything loud.
I have no space for my books.
I told Aoi that I don’t want any other gift for Christmas, just my own bookcase. So that I have a nook of my own. And while we were in the mall one time, I saw the displays in Dimensione. I saw the perfect shelves. White and compact [read: small]. So we bought two white shelves, assembled it ourselves, and stack one on top of the other. It looked like one unit when we were done. Perfect! Christmas came early!
I chose the bright red box (bottom shelf) specifically so that i can’t miss it — it contains our utility bills. The violet bear in the bottom is what I call my “bearie bank” [most kids have a piggy bank]. It has been with me since college. I tell you, a lot of stuff has been bought by my saving spare change. Most recently was my share in our wedding. The other boxes contain my crafting stuff, like punchers, glitter glue, etc. That’s all. It’s pretty much empty at this point but will eventually fill up once I bring home the rest of my books from my mom’s house. Most of the ones I packed were gifts.
I fell in love with the photo frame [with a worn-out effect that is very shabby chic] and ceramic box so I bought them as well. I love the colors. Yup, there’s no picture in the photo frame. I took it out specifically for the shoot. I got shy the last minute that’s why.
A lady bug marks its territory.
We also bought another corner shelving space. This one in yellow. Will feature it in a future post.

We badly need a book case too. We bought this metal case in S&R that was supposed to hold some of our books, but then wifey didn’t like it and now it holds our DVDs.
Posted by Rico at November 12, 2009, 1:58 pmHow much was each book case?
And where did you get the “bearie bank”? We have the same “piggy bank” only we have ours is in this weaved bamboo mug.
